PERAN MA’HAD AL-ZAYTUN DALAM PENGOLAHAN SAMPAH RUMAH TANGGA BERDASARKAN PERATURAN PEMERINTAH NOMOR 81 TAHUN 2012 DAN FIQH SIYASAH

Abstract

As a country with the largest population and vast territory, Indonesia faces significant challenges in household waste management. The management of household waste in Indonesia still encounters several obstacles, including economic, socio-cultural, and technological constraints. To address this issue, the government has enacted several laws related to household waste management. The purpose of this study is to understand the role of Ma'had Al-Zaytun in household waste management based on Government Regulation No. 81 of 2012 and Fiqh Siyasah. The author uses a library research method with a legal research approach conducted in a juridical-normative manner. The research results show that the role of Ma'had Al-Zaytun in household waste management based on Government Regulation No. 81 of 2012 includes implementing the 4R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and Replace) strategy by collecting food scraps and processing them into silage for animal feed. Additionally, livestock manure is processed into organic fertilizer for agriculture. Furthermore, based on Fiqh Siyasah, the study integrates environmental principles from the perspective of Islamic teachings in the approach to waste management, ensuring that waste management actions not only comply with government regulations but are also grounded in religious values that guide environmental protection and the well-being of humanity.
